Welcome Message from the Dean
With great pleasure, I welcome you to the School of Education and Leadership (SEL) at the University of Ghana. The SEL comprises three distinct Departments: Educational Studies and Leadership, Physical Education and Sports Studies, and Teacher Education.
At the School of Education and Leadership, our primary objective is to provide comprehensive education and high-quality training to teachers, sport administrators, educational leaders, and managers at various levels of the educational system. Our undergraduate programs are offered in Basic Education (Early Grade, Upper Primary Grade, and Junior High School Specialism), Secondary Education with concentrations in Mathematics, Science, and English, and Physical Education and Sport. Our graduate programs in Educational Leadership and Management, Innovations in Educational Pedagogies, and Sport Management are shaping the educational landscape of Ghana and beyond.
As a student of SEL, you are an integral part of the University of Ghana’s esteemed legacy of collaborative knowledge production and academic leadership. Through innovative pedagogical approaches, interdisciplinary research, and strategic partnerships with six affiliated Colleges of Education—Accra, Amedzofe, Enchi, Gbewaa, Peki, and Somanya—we actively contribute to national and global advancement. Our research initiatives are impactful, our transformative student experiences provide enriching opportunities, and our engagements and partnerships foster mutually beneficial outcomes.
